Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. Last updated: August 2026.
Who is responsible for your data
The Save Meia Praia campaign is the data controller for this website. Save Meia Praia is not yet a separate legal entity; while our own association is being established, Associação Miradouro da Luz (Portugal) acts as the responsible organisation and administers campaign donations. Once our association is registered, it will become the data controller and we will update this page.

What we collect
The name, email address and message content you give us when you use the contact form or join the mailing list, plus any optional details you choose to add. We do not collect payment card data; donations are made by bank transfer directly to Associação Miradouro da Luz.
Why we process it
To reply to your message, to send the campaign updates you asked for, and to keep a basic record of campaign correspondence. We do not use your data for advertising and we never sell or rent it.
Legal basis
Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for mailing list updates, recorded with the wording you agreed to and the time you agreed to it. Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for replying to messages you send us and running the campaign.
How long we keep it
Mailing list details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and in any case no longer than 24 months after the campaign ends. Contact form messages: up to 24 months, then deleted, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing matter. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
Who processes data for us
Supabase (database and authentication, EU region) stores form submissions. Resend delivers campaign and notification emails. Google (Gmail) receives notification emails at our campaign address. These providers act as processors on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
Hosting
The website is hosted and served by Lovable (lovable.dev) on Cloudflare infrastructure. Standard server logs, including IP addresses, may be processed for security and reliability.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Every campaign email has an unsubscribe link. Email savemeiapraia@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
Public opinion survey
Purpose of processing
We process your name and email address to administer the Meia Praia public opinion survey, help prevent duplicate responses, verify that responses are genuine, and maintain the integrity of the aggregate results.
Categories of personal data
Full name, email address, your agree/disagree response, the language you used, the date and time of submission and verification, a hashed value derived from your network address (used only to limit abuse), and — if you actively opt in — a separate record of your consent to campaign emails.
Publication
Only aggregate figures are published: the number of verified responses and the agree/disagree percentages. Individual responses, names, email addresses, mailing-list status, verification status, timestamps and record identifiers are never published or exposed to other visitors.
Recipients and processors
Supabase (database and authentication), Lovable (website hosting and platform, on Cloudflare infrastructure), Lovable Emails (transactional email delivery for verification emails and campaign emails). Personal data from the survey is not sent to analytics or error-monitoring tools.
International transfers
The database is provisioned in an EU region. Website delivery uses a global content network, and email delivery infrastructure may process data outside the EU/EEA. This item is flagged for legal review and the exact transfer position will be confirmed and published here.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection or portability, and you may withdraw marketing consent at any time. Withdrawing marketing consent does not delete your survey response unless you ask for that separately. Email savemeiapraia@gmail.com.
Marketing consent
Campaign emails are only sent if you actively ticked the optional box. Participation in the survey never subscribes you, and every campaign email includes a working unsubscribe link.
Complaints
You may lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), www.cnpd.pt.
Corrections policy
If anything on this site is inaccurate, tell us and we will check it. Where we are wrong we will correct the page, mark the correction, date it and keep the original wording visible in the correction note. We do not silently edit or delete published material.
Save Meia Praia does not allege unlawful conduct by any person or organisation. We ask for disclosure and assessment.
