About
Save Meia Praia is a community-led, non-partisan campaign seeking transparent planning, proper environmental scrutiny and responsible protection of the Meia Praia coastal landscape.
Save Meia Praia is a community-led campaign promoting transparency, responsible planning and proper environmental assessment of the proposed Meia Praia development.
The campaign is currently in the process of establishing its own Portuguese association.
Until then, donations are administered by Associação Miradouro da Luz on behalf of the campaign.
For all enquiries regarding the campaign, donations, volunteering, media or corrections please contact:
The campaign is run by volunteers. Decisions on publication are taken by a small coordinating group; every published document is checked by at least two people before it goes live. Enquiries reach the coordinating group through the contact form on this site.
We are committed to providing financial transparency as donations are received. Once fundraising activity is established, a summary of income and expenditure will be published here. Donations are restricted to campaign purposes, including legal advice, independent environmental expertise, communications and campaign operating costs.
No member of the coordinating group has a commercial interest in the site, in a competing development, or in any organisation named on this site. Any change to that position will be disclosed here.
General enquiries, evidence and document requests all come to us through the contact form on this site. We read every message and reply as quickly as a volunteer team can.
Journalists are welcome to reach us through the contact form, choosing the press option, for documents and comment. We will say what we know, what we do not know, and which is which.
Information status
This campaign is actively gathering and verifying information. Much of the planning file for this project is not yet public, so parts of this site describe what has been reported to us rather than what we can prove with a document. Every statement is labelled, and this site is updated as facts are confirmed.
Information status
Despite repeated requests for information, Lagos Câmara has not provided the responses or documentation we have requested. We will continue to update this website as new information becomes available.
We publish documents where we have them and link to the official source beneath the statement it supports. Information reported to the campaign is described as reported, and unanswered questions are kept visible as questions rather than presented as facts. Where we are wrong, we correct the record and record the correction.
This campaign does not allege that any person or organisation has acted unlawfully. Statements about legality are made only where established by official evidence or a decision of a court. We make no personal accusations and publish no private personal data.
